on super for the game boy, the giants extra man on kick blocks was the fastest ever. you could block every kick attempt by the computer. it was like giving yourself a free point every time the computer scored. as for the bears raiders debate, dennis gentry was the fastest kick return man in game. an extra bonus. as a side, i enjoyed the tackle breaking ability of kevin mack for the browns.

Gutter brings up an interesting debate: Who is the best team when discussing Tecmo Bowl? Let’s review a few teams:

Chicago: Sweetness can destroy you on the ground, and Willie Gault was a good receiver.

San Francisco: Montana, Rice, Craig, Rathman – enough said

Los Angeles Raiders: Bo Jackson, Marcus Allen, and Tim Brown – Not bad at all. Best running team in the game.

Denver: Elway, Dorsett, Mark Jackson, Vance Johnson: Good passing team

My Favorite team was LA because of Jackson & Allen, but I’ll beat anyone with San Francisco.

In the original Tecmo Bowl, Payton was good on offense and Richard Dent and Mike Singletary were unstoppable on defense.

But I still say that no one holds a candle to Bo Jackson in Tecmo Super Bowl. He was unparalleled and I think if you could theoretically match up the Bears from the original and the Raiders from Super Bowl, it’d be a death match of the highest order. But in terms of sheer defensive destruction, I have to give the edge to Bo.

She was pretty awesome.

I would have to say the Bears were the best team in the original Tecmo Bowl. Just give the ball to Payton and zig zag your way all the way to the endzone!
I know everyone is going to say I picked the Bears because they are my favorite team, but come on who was better. Los Angeles with Bo Jackson… maybe but still no.
