Note: I have seen most of the Oscar Movies

Best Picture: The Oscars were pretty standard this year. If you haven't seen Slumdog Millionaire yet, check it out. It wasn't the greatest movie ever made (like the Academy made sound like), but it is an entertaining film and one of the better films of 2008.

Best Actor: For those that haven't seen Milk, Sean Penn killed in that one. He easily gave the best performance. Eastwood was also good in Gran Torino, but he was just Clint Eastwood blurting out a ton of racial slurs. Frost/Nixon was entertaining for all history buffs. It also had a ton of good acting.

Best Actress: Kate Winselt won!!! next subject...

Best Supporting Actor: Health Ledger won!!! Big surprise, next subject...

Best Supporting Actress: Penelope Cruz won. Not sure what her draw is. Never really been impressed by her, but if Whoopi can win, you can too.

Finally, Good call on E. Dagger's comment about Bill Maher. Fuck Bill Maher. The guy is a total asshole. I agree that he is a "smug, self-satisfied prick" .

Is it just me, or does every movie Sean Penn does post-I Am Sam seem to feature him as "touched"? Granted, I've not seen an entire feature-length production, but the previews of Milk definitely made me check to see if the dude was mentally handicapped instead of gay.
