I picture all imortality like Higlanders and only slicing off the head would kill you. There can be only one!

I wouldn't mind floating through space the way Bender does in that episode where a civilization springs up on his frontal area.

What happens if the cacoon ship happens on a Predator Ship, some Romulans or Reavers and gets destroyed, are you then still imortal?

Would you just float the void forever, completly conscious with your only entertainment being the sensation of bumping into an occasional asteroid every eon or so?

It doesn't sound appealing really.

I have never seen all of Cocoon and that is the reason for my non-existent response, however, after reading this article and understanding a little more about the question, here is what my thoughts are:

If you choose to leave, who goes with you? Do you get to pick or is it whoever you are with when the Cocoon ship arrives? If you choose to leave and you have the promise of good health and immortality, what if one of your shipmates is an Ass Hat that you want to kill all the time. Do you get to kill them? ?Now that they are immortal, do they come back to life to annoy you some more because you tried to kill them. And, if you are with the people you decided to choose, how many lines from movies can you go without running out because the movies are now hundreds of years old? Do you get to see new movies to pull lines from when on the Cocoon ship? Not sure if this sounds like a great idea.

If you choose not to go, you sit here on Earth, work a lame job, get old, maybe have a family like Deuce. Then what do you have to look forward to: retirement, old age jokes, yelling at kids who are on your lawn, sickness, falling apart, cancer, loss of memory, loss of bowel movement control, etc. That list can go on and on. However, like Butters said, you have to take the bad with the good. I have not lived a great life and have not made the best choices, but it is turning around and I want to see where this can go. So do I have to choose to get on the ship now or can I wait a little longer to see where the ship I already am on is going.

Is this Cocoon ship a metaphoric ship?

I am not sure what my answer would be, I am guessing it would depend on answers to the questions I mentioned above.

Ah Canada, America Junior. I asked a bartender from Canada if she would be offended if I called Canada America Jr. She gave me a pretty dumb look like "You did not just ask me that dumbass question" but she just said "Yes, I would be" I was lucky enough not to be drunk enough to push it past that.

I was thinking it would be more like flight of the navigator because I've never seen Cocoon. That movie creaped me out. By the way you can thank the Stonecutters for making Steve Guttenberg a star.

I choose Earth. Why explore the universe when I haven't even had a chance to leave my own country? (Full disclosure: I have been to Canada but I don't consider it another country, I consider it basically a big northern state like Montana or North Dakota.)
