I must not have hit send on the email (found it in my drafts file).
My first concert wasn’t until sophomore year of college. It was 311 with Hoobastank (a band nobody I went with had heard of) at Moby Arena. My roommates convinced me that since my last class for the day was at noon I should get in line and save them spots. I was first in line and nobody showed up for another 3 hours another 5 before my friends showed up. The show was awesome with the added bonus of being up against the stage and getting hugs from the Hoobaskank (she was passing out Hoobastank stickers and giving hugs). After the show my friends wanted to go wait by 311’s bus to get autographs, but it turned out to be Hoobastank’s, so we hung out and talked to them for an hour or so before they had to take off for the next show. Two months later, they were all over the radio.

I too forgot to write in...the first concert I ever went to was some mixture of Jesus bands at a church camp. It was complete with people crying in the audience and waving their hands in the air....totally creepy. The first show I willingly went to wasn't that much better...it was Sophie B. Hawkins ("Damn, I wish I was your Lover) at the Ogden. I went with my mom and two friends from school. That night, the Ogden had made the underage kids sit in the balcony. I was very uncomfortable when the airhead morning show lady started the introduction to the band by screaming for lesbians. Always classy, whatever adult contemporary radio station you were...always classy.

I too forgot to write in but I wanted to because I know I'll get a ration of shit for this. Oh well, at least it will make you laugh. My first concert was when I was in 8th grade and went to see Ricky Martin. That's right I was "Livin' the Vida Loca". Here's the thing though, we had a box. That's right, we were 8th graders in a box at a concert. And you thought you were cool E Dagger. HA! I can't remember if it was McNichols or Pepsi Center but I'm pretty sure it was the Pepsi Center. I also want to say we went in a limo, but maybe I'm like Cassie B and making stuff up. Anyway, it was totally awesome at the time and I thought - no, I KNEW - I was super cool. At least it always makes people laugh now. As a side note, my second concert was Moby at Red Rocks and was the first time I was around pot.

Sorry, forgot to write in.
My first concert would have been Richardson North Junior High's Symphonic Band performance. My sister participated in this band when I was still in elementary school and this probably began my enjoyment of classical music. I have never really been into going to concerts, but I guess my first "real" concert was at Dallas' equivalent of Fiddler's Green. I saw Journey, Styx, and Eddie Money there with some friends in high school. It was relaxing just sitting in the lawn and cracking wise with a bunch of my friends. Unfortunately, this was in the time frame after Steve Perry and before "Karaoke YouTube guy" as the lead singer for Journey, but since it was an outdoor amphitheatre with lots of ambient noise, you couldn't really tell.
