Food Sex or Cars? Bon Temps Edition

Here’s your second scenario. We know a lot of you watch HBO’s hit show True Blood, so this scenario pays tribue to that goofy show. It’s specially designed with the ladies in mind, but to have a realistic shot at winning, you need to answer every scenario we present. So, gay, straight, man, woman… it doesn’t matter. Well…this got tougher. I’m ridiculously tired of the vampire shit. I mean, really? The 40-year-old moms in my office have put up giant posters of whoever the hell is in Twilight at their desks. I refuse to follow a tween fad anymore. However, I’m going for the dinner. It’d be good food, and as I mentioned in the last round, it looks like it’d work, since there are no visible mushrooms. I’d get to heckle the crap out of a semi-attractive popularity surfer while he had to pay…and if I had enough to drink he may be cute enough to forget. The weird-looking guy…not so much. The car…I can’t get behind a Lexus. If you are going to go for luxury, go for the BMW or Benz. It’s a few bucks more, but at that level, it’s worth it, since BMW pays for maintenance and Lexus only gives you a free Ed Hardy shirt to welcome you to the douche club.

Way tougher. I am going to go with the French dinner (free). French dinners come with wine. I like wine. Plus French food is good. The guy? I have no idea who he is. And the car is just a Toyota with a new emblem. While Toyota makes some great cars, this one is not the winner.

I’m going to have to choose the comped French meal and the important word here is “feast.” That implies a bunch of food, probably 7 courses and as mentioned before, wine. That’s tough to pass up that much well prepared free food. That guy looks needy and he doesn’t have any arm, chest or armpit hair. That is just plain odd. And we all know the man I’d go gay for is Hugh Jackman, and that dude got some hair.

I will have to go with Eric Northman, I had no idea who he was but went to the always accurate Wikipedia (Ok sometimes accurate) Anyway, a quote from the book that the character is from says “if there were an international butt competition, Eric would win, hands down – or cheeks up” Seems like enough reason for me. My reasons for not picking the other 2 are simple, to quote Dumb and Dumber “I don’t know Lloyd, the French are assholes”. And although I have nothing personally against Lexus there is nothing about that car that jumps out at me. So I will take the guy with the sweet ass.

As I looked through the pictures, my thought process went something like this:
French food: I’ve had a fancy dinner at a French restaurant in New Orleans and it wasn’t that great. Most French food involves seafood which I do not care for.
Half naked dude: I haven’t succumbed to the vampire trend yet, so I didn’t know who he was. I googled him and found that most pictures of him show him with long hair…gross. No thank you. So now I’m thinking that the next picture has to be a super sweet car and that will make my choice easy.
Lexus: What?! Damn, I’m not choosing this car. I’m with jitterrawks, if I want a luxury car there are others I’d choose first. I already drive a Toyota.
So know I have to rethink the dinner and the guy. I still can’t go for the vampire with long hair so the French feast it is and I’ll hope for non-seafood choices in my feast. Plus if someone else is paying and it’s at a good place, the wine has to be really good so I won’t have to worry about a wine hangover the next day, those are the worst.

Hmmm, I’m going to have to choose Eric Northman, although he seems a bit to pretty for my taste, he looks fairly ripped. If I were a chick or gay I probably wouldn’t kick him out of bed.
The Lexus is nothing special. When I look at it I can’t help but think a luxury Toyota is still just a Toyota.
As far as the French feast is concerned; I wouldn’t pick it. It seems like the kind of meal that would taste really good, but then after I was done with it I probably wouldn’t ever think about it again.

That doesn’t look like a lot of food and fancy food that looks like that usually is hyped higher than it tastes. Random ab guy? You can replace him with any other ab guy. I’ll go with the Lexus. It should last 40 years like a toyota but you’d be able to impress the 50 + crowd.

I have a fully loaded Camry, which is identical to the Lexus. The LExus is nice, but it’s not so great that I would go out of my way to own one. I’m happy with my Camry.

Who the hell is that pale, half-naked guy and why was i just forced to look at him. No thanks.

The French meal has an additional benefit that no one has mentioned yet….it’s in New Orleans, and New Orleans is fuckin awesome. I’ll take a free meal in a kick-ass city any day. That’s my pick.

I choose Eric Northman. Rundown on answer…

French Meal. First of all, I am entertained that this was assumed to be a French meal. I also assumed it was so, but couldn’t confirm because the wine label was unreadable. I didn’t want to make too quick of an assumption and risk losing, so I did a little research. According to wikipedia, the lamb chop is actually a meal that originated in Great Britain. I knew after reading this that this couldn’t be the answer, because British food, aside from this delicious looking lamb chop, is digusting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamb_chop_(meat).

Lexus. If it was the LS model, it would be in contention. But the ES, just as R suggests, is just a souped up Camry.

Eric Northman. Now I think I am one of the only women who doesn’t just looooooove this man. Sure, he’s hot. Sure, I’d do him. (ha ha) But the real answer comes that who WOULDN’T want to meet him? Straight, gay, male or female? He’s sexy, strong, really really old and a vampire. Plus, he could answer the question for E Dagger and Hart: “do vampires shit?”

As nice as a Lexus would be, nah. And I have no idea who the dude is but he looks pretty generic to me. So I’m going with a night in N’awlins with a free French feast. Then I’m wandering around with an open container for awhile and dancing the night away!

Eric Northman all the way here The guy who plays him in the show pretty ab-tastic. But I have also read all of the Sookie Stackhouse Chronicles, (understandibly nothing to brag about) in those books its the actual Eric character that is so very great. French food would be yummy and lexus cars are nice but Eric wins.

I was going to go with the New Orleans dinner but after talking with muh lady friend last night I guess Eric Northman is the clear winner. I am using her vote as my decision, yes it is pathetic.

A Lexus?!?! Why didn’t you ask if we want a Kia Soul? And this Eric fellow was my initial choice until my husband pointed out the lack of body hair, that’s just weird and I can’t get past it. Plus he’s too pale for me. I love New Orleans and have many happy Mardi Gras memories. Plus any feast has to be awesome right? I choose the New Orleans French Restaurant Feast. Then I’ll wake up the next morning and have beignets at Cafe Du Monde and a muffalata for lunch. AND I can swing by the McIlhenny Island to go to the Tabasco Factory.

So, I actually am not familiar with this particular vampire, but I fear he’s not the right choice. Take it from me, there are WAY HOTTER vampires on my, er, America’s mind right now. Even if I think about him as just the actor and not the vampire character, I’m still not attracted (I think he might have hair highlights?!?) Ladies and gents, ew.

I pick the food! Because even though I left college 4+ years ago, I still get really excited about free meals. Plus, if I’m in New Orleans, I can stop at Cafe du Monde after dinner for beignets! Yummytown!

Break it down, hammer time:

1) who the fuck is that guy? vampires? you’re killing me. it’s bad enough that 3 of my bffs went to New Moon AT MIDNIGHT ON OPENING NIGHT (and did I mention not a one is a day under 26) AND ARE GOING AGAIN NEXT WEEK, but it was all over tv, and i hate vampires and i hate teens and that guy isn’t even cute. so there.

2) a LEXUS? wtf.

3) New Orleans, while I am totally dissing their decision to build, and then rebuild, a city that’s BELOW SEA LEVEL in HURRICANE COUNTRY, is pretty badass. I mean, they’ve got history, and frenchies, and graveyards, and people flash their boobs in the street just because they can. And did I mention the jazz funerals? Anyway, French food in Nawlins can’t suck. Win.

French restaurant feast would be my choice. Great food and wine for free would be great. I had no idea who that guy was and the Lexus isn’t anything incredible.

This FSC leaves quite a bit more room for error. I can certainly see the appeal for each. However, I have to immediately rule out the Lexus because we have already started the annual ass-raping ritual of tying huge bows to vehicles and pretending they’re Christmas presents. I honestly can’t stand these commercials any more than Dagger can stand Dakota Fanning. They grate at the very fiber of my being. Sorry Lexus, you’re out.

I feel like a broken record here but vampires are so cliche at this point, I can’t hardly take him seriously. Beyond that, I have a hard time getting beyond his eyes which are saying to me, “I’d like to plant my seed in you. Come hither,” and that’s just not okay with me. I don’t need vampire spawn developing in me. Especially because, as far as I know, I don’t have the requisite parts to make that happen.

I’ve never really been in love with the idea of a fancy meal. Somehow, because I’m paying extra money, I get smaller portions that are delicately displayed on my plate? Really? Just because you went to school for a long time? Is that why my portions are so small? You have to make a bit more profit so you can pay for all those years of schooling? No thanks. Having said that though, I’m gonna have to choose the New Orleans French restaurant. Mostly because it’s free but the do a lot of things right, at least with food, down in Nawlins. Give me free, well cooked, brilliantly plated food, please.
