For the record, he wanted to rename Pikes Peak “Old Porgy’s Frosted Cap.”

And yeah, I think you’re right Tron. We covered a staggering amount of ground in that interview, and I think that was one of the things he mentioned. I remember his lamenting the decline in popularity of pinball machines as well as the 7 minutes he spent discussing “Old PD’s Peanut Heap,” which, boiled down to its essence, is essentially just a giant pile of peanuts on a table. He also discussed whatever the name of the voice is for “Dragonspeak” which he suspected was “Clyde,” but was wrong, and I think that segued into the cell regeneration thing.

The more I think about this AWK is two people thing, the more I think he’s failed to clarify what exactly he means. He’s talking more about this in early February, and as always, we’ll keep you posted.

But whatever, that hour+ we spent with him was absolutely captivating.

I got the pleasure of sitting in on that AWK interview with Jitter and her coleague. If I recall, and correct me if I’m wrong, AWK talked about cell regeneration cycles in the human body. Every so many years a person has lost all of the material they once had and is thus a new person. I can’t help but wonder if this is one reason he said he was literally a different person than the one who originally performed on “I Get Wet”

Hart-I believe you are correct…he was annoyed my multi-syllabic words…or….mul syl wor. Luckily, he didn’t try to complete the interview in his shorthand language.

Gutter-you have to be careful how you read things…in his head, I’m sure they were two people…but what I understood is that his stage presence was manufactured, while his real personality came out later.

So I guess I am slightly confused with the whole AWK thing. So the person who wrote the songs was not the same guy who did the concerts, TV interviews, music videos, etc…? The real WK is really that Steev Mike? Maybe I should read the article again. Is it like Time Cop where if the pre 2005 AWK met the Post 2005 AWK they would melt into each other and become non-existent?

I believe Dagger will agree-he is pretty crazy. Hilarious, but crazy. It wouldn’t surprise me if the AWK from IGW was an act, but so many musicians put on a stage persona to draw attention. Fake personality or not, he was responsible for some of the most fun concerts I’ve ever seen and the most hilarious/long interview I’ve ever done. Now I have to find it, to hear his theories on ant farms and what he wanted to rename Pike’s Peak.
