Great list. Those are absolutely five of the best matches of all time, and the best matches to get someone hooked on the business.
I agree with Lady E, I hate when people call wrestling fake too. It's no more fake than 24, Die Hard, Terminator, etc. It's all scripted, as such is the NFL, NBA, NHL, etc. The only true sport is the Olympics, and even that is pure politics. The other sports are all just big business, with pre determined winners.

Great column, Dagger. Glad you mentioned the Savage-Flair promos. They were a great part of the drama. Somewhere out there, a young woman has had to endure years of therapy to reconcile the memory of being accosted at an indoor water park by a crazed, scrawny, pale older kid screaming in her face. "It's the bright lights! It's the big cities! It's long limousines! It's women lined up for a BLOCK to get a shot at the REEEEEAL DEAL! WOOOOOOOO!"

I keep getting frustrated when people say that pro wrestling is fake. There are very few fake things about pro wrestling. I get that it is scripted, that they know in the end who will win, but seriously, fake it is NOT! Is it fake when Mankind had his ear ripped off? EAR RIPPED OFF PEOPLE! When he had his tooth knocked out, it wasn't just kocked out it went though his mouth and out his NOSE! He landed on THOUSANDS of Tacks. And this is just one guy. What do you have to do in your DAILY JOB that can seriously harm you this much? Scripted? Yes. Fake? NO.

Regarding the Mysterio Psychosis match. I remember when I was a kid staying up after SNL to watch WCW on the local affiliate. Most of the matches on at this time were people I had never heard of, and the cruiserweight bouts were no different. But dammit if they weren't some of the most entertaining matches I had ever seen. Those guys could fly. I recognized that the whole thing was fake but the skill with witch the performers assisted each other to perform some of their moves was quite impressive.

I am not a fan of wrestling, but I remember watching the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match at a buddy's house. I was hooked through the whole thing. Only after the match did my feelings toward professional wrestling revert back to normal. For one match, I was a fan.

I wish I wasn't at work, I really want to watch the Savage/Flair match. Oh well, I'll wander around the office yelling, "WOOOOOOO!"

The two of these that I've seen (T.L.C. and Hulk v. Rock) are my two favorite matches, and coincidentally were watched with Dagger and Limon.
